Here is a staking plan that can used for football or horseracing.

The trick is to spot when a team or a horse has a better chance of winning than allocated by the bookmaker, then bet an amount proportional to your advantage over the bookmakers odds.

Here's how it works; say a bookmakers is offering odds on a horse or team of 4/1. That implies the bookmaker thinks it has a 20% chance of winning. But lets say after studying the form or using football confidential's value bets you decide it has a 25% chance of winning. This gives you an advantage of 5%.

You should scale your chance of losing by that advantage. In this case your chance of losing is 75% divided by your advantage (5) = 15.

Subtract this from your chance of winning: 25 minus 15 = 10 and tht's the percentage of your betting bank you should bet.

This is the optimal amount to bet so your capital grows as fast as possible while minimising risks of losing.
