The Definitive Guide to Betting Exchanges ("Racing Post" Expert Series)

Not since the legalisation of betting shops in 1961 has anything hit the UK gambling scene with as much force as the arrival of the betting exchange. From small beginnings in 2000, to more than GBP 23 million traded on a single cricket match in January 2005, Betfair - the dominant exchange - can now arguably be called the world's largest internet betting site. Punters, professional and casual, love it - and bookmakers hate it. But whatever they say, person-to-person betting is here to stay. This book is the essential publication aimed at helping you to avoid the pitfalls and make the most of this new and vibrant form of betting.

Enemy Number One: The Secrets of the UK's Most Feared Professional Punter

A fascinating insight into the mind of someone whose brain ticks a whole lot quicker and more precisely than most --John Francome

Patrick has one of the sharpest minds in racing. His book gives a fascinating insight into the discipline of punting --William Haggas, Derby-winning trainer

The mega gamble was orchestrated by Patrick Veitch, one of the shrewdest and most organised gamblers in the country ... Timing his strike with military precision, Veitch crept under the radar --Sunday Times

Product Description
Enemy Number One is the sensational inside story of Patrick Veitch, the UK's most feared professional punter, and how he overcame adversity to take the bookmakers for more than £10 million over an eight-year period.

Enemy Number One offers an often controversial but utterly fascinating insight into Veitch's life of punting. For anyone who likes the occasional bet or who takes gambling seriously and has both the 'brain surgeon' and 'mad axeman' capabilities to do it there is more to be gleaned from this book than probably any other betting book.

Veitch is no ordinary punter. Enemy Number One documents an eight-year period of profits in excess of £10 million. It also chronicles the tactical headaches of placing bets with the bookmakers using Veitch's vast network of agents and sub-agents.

Veitch has had no comfortable ride, though. Just a short while after becoming a full-time punter he was the victim of an extortion attempt by a dangerous criminal who was subsequently tried twice for murder and later convicted of attempted murder. Veitch was forced to flee and go into hiding, returning to Cambridge to testify in a bulletproof jacket with police protection.

With the criminal behind bars, Veitch, in dire financial straits, resolved to take on the bookmakers in his comeback year on a greater scale than ever before. Enemy Number One details his role as the man behind the famous Exponential coup, winning the Scoop6 and his success as an owner/punter. He describes his Fundamental Principle of Betting Theory to explain why the approach of most punters is fatally flawed and details the approach that is needed in order to succeed. He also provides in-depth coverage of a full day in his work as a professional punter.

Told in Veitch's own candid ice-cool style, with an intelligent wit throughout, this is quite simply a compelling read.

39 Days of Gazza

39 Days of Gazza

Paul Gascoigne was the English football icon of the 1990s. The outstanding player of his generation, his magnificent midfield play provided some of England's most memorable moments, and he enjoyed a headline-grabbing career with Newcastle United, Tottenham, Lazio, Glasgow Rangers, Middlesbrough and Everton. Then it all went terribly wrong. He still made the headlines but for all the wrong reasons - alcoholism, drugs, wife-beating, personality disorder, run-ins with the law, nervous breakdown, revival from cardiac arrest. Like his great hero, George Best, Gazza seemed to have passed a personal point of no return. Then, in the autumn of 2005, he was given a chance to rebuild his career with his first job as a football manager. As part of a consortium which bought Kettering Town, Gazza reinvented himself. Appearing to have his personal problems under control, he took charge full of big ideas about steering the club into the Football League and towards the big time. The people of Kettering were star-struck by the celebrity among them, and yet in just a few short weeks it would all fall apart spectacularly. 39 days after Gascoigne was appointed manager he was sacked amidst an increasingly bizarre series of allegations, leaving a once hopeful club on its knees. 39 Days of Gazza tells the story of Paul Gascoigne's tragicomic reign as manager of Kettering Town, and how its disintegration impacted on so many people's lives - not least his own.

About the Author
Steve Pitts was group sports editor of Northamptonshire Newspapers during Gascoigne's time at Kettering Town. He was uniquely placed to record the rapid turnaround of events, and builds the story with revealing contributions from many contacts involved in the club.

For Simon Kuper's Football Against the Enemy: "A terrific book, deftly written" Guardian "Another great work on soccer ! effervescent and hilarious" Independent

Product Description
At last, football has its answer to Freakonomics, The Tipping Point and The Undercover Economist. "Why do England lose?" "Why do Newcastle United always buy the wrong players?" "How could Nottingham Forest go from winning the European Cup to the depths of League One?" "Penalties - what are they good for?" These are questions every football fan has asked. Why England Lose answers them. It brings the techniques of bestselling books such as Freakonomics and The Undercover Economist to bear on our national sport. Written with an economist's brain and a football writer's skill, it applies high-powered analytical tools to everyday football topics. Why England Lose isn't in the first place about money. It's about looking at data in new ways. It's about revealing counterintuitive truths about football. It explains all manner of things about the game which newspapers just can't see. It all adds up to a new way of looking at football, beyond cliches about "The Magic of the FA Cup", "England's Shock Defeat" and "Newcastle's New South American Star". No training in economics is needed to read Why England Lose. But the reader will come out of it with a better understanding not just of football, but of how economists think and what they know.

Online Football Betting Fortune

In what is perhaps the most shocking announcement made in some time regarding the vast world of the Internet football betting, a professional sports bettor has just released some very private "secret systems" he's been using since many years.

He admitted without hesitation that he turned $500 into thousands in a matter of weeks at such online sportsbooks as canbet, eurobet, willhill and others's, and resulting in his having amassed thousands of dollars very fast!

In the past 4 years alone he's made thousands a months as a result of what he calls a very simple "betting technique" online football gamblers have altogether missed.

So valuable this "betting technique" has proven that he's finally decided to share it with the rest of us.

Just grab the pro's secrets for yourself at:www.secretfootballsystems.com

And his timing couldn't be better!...

- Since going online sportsbooks have took billions from online sports gamblers!
- The average sports gambler will lose $300 a week. Every innocent surfer who thinks they will make a few dollars on a bet ends up donating $300 to these sites.

But now with the release of this Pro's super-secrets, every punters, investors, bettors, both big and small, as well as newbies with very small bankroll are back in the game!

When asked why he kept this "betting technique" secret, the successful bettor responded "I knew I had a good thing, quite possibly an edge over any sportsbook... I made money at any of them using my systems since many years ... do you honestly blame me? ..."

But now he's decided to share his know-how as he knows that doing so doesn't take a single dollar away from his regular winnings, and it won't cause widespread usage to the degree that it will even help the sportsbooks.

Additionally, you should know that nothing about his secrets either robs the sportsbooks (so you don't have to fear to be kicked out from your sportsbook!) or is anything about it illegal in any other way.

So if you think you're smarter than most people, then here's your chance to prove it to everybody else! Just grab the pro's secrets for yourself at:www.secretfootballsystems.com

But I feel it only fair to warn you that this pro sports bettor fellow from Canada is a tad eccentric and self-admittedly "moody" and he's threatened to withdraw this secrets at some point soon without so much as a single day's notice ...

So if I were you I'd not take any chances because although he may keep it available for the next 2 months, he may also take it off the market just 2 days from now (and then you'll kick yourself saying "Dad-gummit! I knew I should have grabbed that when I had the chance!" ... so don't let this happen).

Also keep this in mind...
-----------------------------------
How many times since the release of sports betting online have you seen sudden "breakthroughs" of great fortune-making potential come and go where just a few people were in the right place at the right time to be able to take advantage of them? -- You're right ... very, very few.

So don't overlook this email as it may very well prove to be one of the most influential and important ones you've ever received...

The Top Ten Things You Need To Know Before You Buy Anothr Lottery Ticket

1. There IS an incredibly simple way to lower Lottery Odds.

2. The Odds in, for example, a 49-ball lottery are 1-in-13,983,816.

3. Play all 49 lottery numbers - and you are GUARANTEED to have one ball correct. And it only requires 9 games. Even the 59-ball New York Lottery only requires 10 games.

4. With just one ball guaranteed correct, your Lottery Odds have now fallen to 1-in-1,712,304 - A reduction of over TWELVE Million! And all this with a technique that takes 5 minutes and costs under $10.

5. The most probable lottery result has three odd lottery numbers and three even lottery numbers (33.3% of the 13,983,816 combinations are of this type)

6. A lottery result with no consecutive numbers occurs just over 1-week-in-2 on average (50.5% of the 13,983,816 combinations are of this type)

7. Your lottery results can be boosted using games with three high lottery numbers and three low lottery numbers (33.3% of the combinations are of this type)

8. The most probable lottery result will have no lottery numbers from the previous week (43.6% of the 13,983,816 combinations) or two numbers from the previous week (41.3% of the 13,983,816 combinations)

9. Constructing your games using these rules - and using all the numbers in your lottery - is the simplest, easiest, quickest way to improve your lottery results.

10. A 49-ball lottery has been used as an example - but the concept applies to all lotteries, with just slight changes in the percentages. In the Lottery, it's true that anything is possible - but some things are more probable than others!

How To Be A Successful Soccer Coach

In many ways, becoming a successfull soccer coach is no different to getting success in any other field.

This means:

- getting experience
- increasing knowledge
- taking any certifications or exams in your field.

The best way to get the experience you need to be a successful soccer coach is to volunteer at your local club. Maybe you can help out in training, whatever you can get, take it - it will be valuable no matter what. Often it is easier to get coaching experience for kids than it is for adults. Even though kids may not be as attentive and present other challenges, it is a joy to teach kids so do not overlook these types of opportunities.

Increasing your knowledge is something that you also owe to yourself. Your own coaching experience will only show you one viewpoint. By reading up, you can learn from the experience of hundreds of other coaches. There are a number of good books out there that you can benefit from - more on this later.

Lastly, there are also certifications and exams that you can take. But what's the point of these, you may ask. In many professions, certifications can lead to more money, and this is also the case in soccer, or football. But they are also a great way of learning the common basics, and building on them. They are also an excellent way of showing clubs that you are serious about becoming a successful soccer coach. Your best bet is to contact your national soccer association for details of their coaching badges.
